PEACEFUL
I want to be inspired
And to inspire
For love to be as strong
As sexual attraction
A kiss to cause an orgasm of
Thoughts I never had before
To make me write the most beautiful poem
In a word order never even thought of
A sensual feeling so strong
That sex doesn’t seem the reason to be in your arms
I want my soul to sing songs
Only a god’s ears can hear
So in tuned with my nature that
My melody tickles the ear drum
That it feels like a universe is humming
Creating a new order in our world
This order of love and compassion
Trust and kindness
Peaceful
I touch your skin
And it feels like the past, the present and the future are all one
That exact moment is now a memory, it is a great feeling
Thoughts of hope that seem so reachable
I am now waiting and hoping that I too inspire
And this new order has a place for us
This order could have the night be day and day be night
Where the moonlight is considered life
It shines on its chosen few
We come out at night and pick the one or ones that we belong to
A tribe of lovers
Every night it might change
But you and I remain the same
As time passes we know why
We humming the same song
We are in the same universe
The sun light so bright it not only lets us see
But we can feel the warmth of compassion with each sun ray
I could never be cruel
Not in this universe inspired by a song
not with two lights in my life one for the night and one for the day
Opposite of what is now but is really the same
Only difference now is that you came along
and inspired the song that created the universe
Where I can smile in the
New order of love and compassion
Trust and kindness
Peaceful

I AM HIP HOP vs. HIP HOP IS DEAD
By DJ SoYo
I was inspired to write this when I attended an event where I was wearing my "I am Hip Hop" T-shirt and a friend of mine was wearing his "Hip Hop is Dead" T-shirt. We looked at each other and laughed and than he said "We represent the same Hip Hop".
So that got me thinking of what that meant. The same Hip Hop.
First what does "I am Hip Hop" mean. Most of you heard Krs-One say this many times over the years. "I Am Hiphop" philosophy is in keeping with what he says has become his calling -- to "establish health, love, awareness, and wealth in the lives of that entire claim Hiphop as their lifestyle.
What did it mean to me? Well, since I have always felt like an outcast, for me taking on the "I am Hip Hop" philosophy was the perfect match. It allowed me to define myself so I wouldn't be tied down by the many stereo types that could be attached to me. Allowed me to look at myself in a different light and it was like a door that I opened to find what I thought to be my better self.
As a member of the Temple of Hip Hop and Zulu Nation supporter, I met many people, who feel strongly about what Hip Hop should be. Hip Hop should have a certain sound, events should have a certain look and it should not be bling, bling, MTV, BET, Radio stations do not represent Hip Hop.
Rappers from down south have been on the top and beats that made people from my generation lose their mind, where no longer popular. Vinyl is almost dead, and with that record stores are closing
Then in the past year, Nas said, the unthinkable for many and for others a fact, "Hip Hop is Dead!" People became upset and were ready to prove otherwise.
I didn't disagree with Nas because I understood to mean an era was gone. The beats and groups that influenced me were no longer an influence or some relevant.
Hip Hop to me has become a feeling. I cannot get mad at a teenager now who is not as excited or gets the same feeling when a Rakim, PRT, Krs, Tribe etc songs come on.
I realized that their experience to Hip Hop is much different. I actually met a guy who told me he fell in love with Hip Hop when he heard Kriss Kross. I was like what?!!! So should I say he is wrong and he is not Hip Hop? What about the kids who are now into the whole south movement. If you tell them "that's not Hip Hop" they could care less. They do not feed into these philosophies. It is not relevant. Their communities support them.
At this point I realized that Hip Hop for me has become a journey and not a destination. I am Hip Hop is very relevant to me but I cannot force that on to anyone else. The journey is an open minded look to music, culture, people and how that affects the community. For some people that experience does not go further than turning on the radio or watching videos.
So the t-shirts saying "I am Hip Hop and Hip Hop is Dead" did represent the same Hip Hop. The feeling and experience that made us love Hip Hop are present in both sayings.
